QUICK FACTS

  • The Pharr International Bridge is the only commercial bridge crossing in Hidalgo County and handles about 55-62k truck crossings per month.

  • The Pharr International Bridge Port of Entry connects Pharr, TX with the City of Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico and its approximately four hundred manufacturing operations spread over 30 million square feet of industrial space.

  • The Pharr International Trade bridge is the only commercial international trade bridge in the region with F.A.S.T (Free and Secure Trade) Lane implemented. F.A.S.T. is a commercial clearance program for known low-risk shipments entering the United States from Canada and Mexico.   

BRIDGE MODERNIZATION PROJECTS:

  • DAP (Donation Acceptance Program) 15 Projects

    • Construct 2 commercial entry lanes/booths & 2 commercial exit lanes/booths to the Pharr International Bridge facility. New exit booths lead to the Border Safety Inspection Facility and on to Majestic International Trade Port.  ​

  • DAP 16

    • Expand existing Dry Dock & Cold Dock/Cold Inspection Facility. Project will also include the construction of a Regional Agriculture Laboratory & Training Center.  ​

  • Future Bridge Expansion (2nd Span/Twin Bridge)

    • Add a second span consisting of 4 lanes to the bridge crossing from Pharr to Mexico ​
